Shiva, also known as Mahadeva is one among the principal deities of Hinduism. Today, on the auspicious occasion of “Mahashivratri”- which marks the night of heavenly marriage between Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva, I would like to focus on a parallel analogy which exists or can be drawn from their way of life.
In “Sanatan Dharma”, we strongly idealize the God/Goddess, which means we always try to adapt the teachings/learnings of them with utmost efficacy. But, we can never match our actions/morals to that with the supreme power as we are a human being (full of mistakes).
The way of life as lead by Lord Ram / Krishna is an ideal benchmark, towards which we must aspire/move constantly by refining ourselves.
But, the life of Lord Shiva is something that we can live up to or inherit his master class leadership/management/interpersonal skills and proficiencies.
Below-mentioned are the major four inferences/analogies which I could draw so as to conclude Lord Shiva as an indomitable leader/manager/administrator/supervisor:
1. Lord Shiva wears snake on his neck and mounts on nandi (bull), Goddess Parvati on lion, Lord Ganesha on mouse. Also, we know that at one place, snake & mouse + bull & lion cannot stay together. Consider this wrt a family/office situation where people with different mindsets/views often quarrel and degrade the ambience of that particular office/house, but in spite of that Lord Shiva manages to create an environment, friendly enough for the coexistence of all those four creatures - with different appeals. Hence, Lord Shiva (if interpreted as a manager) has a great INTEGRITY & is a STRESS MANAGEMENT EXPERT.
2. In temples,Lord Shiva can never been seen alone, there will always be a co-existed idol of either Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha or his mount - nandi along with him. But, when placed at graveyard, there will only be an idol of Lord Shiva, no one else. So, we can make an analogy regarding differentiating our personal life and professional life. (neither mixing , nor compromising with both ).Hence, Lord Shiva (if interpreted as an administrator) has a stupendous EQ/IQ balance and is PROMPT & PUNCTUAL in his daily workings.
3. When you will read Lord Shiva’s life, there are many instances which depicts his calmness and composure nature as he doesn’t gets flawed by turn of events easily. Hence, Lord Shiva (if interpreted as a leader) is a brilliant DECISION-MAKER.
4. Lord Ganesha was beheaded by Lord Shiva and later elephant’s head ( FRUGAL ENGINEERING ) was implanted on to him in best possible time, so as to save Ganesha’s life. Hence, Lord Shiva (if interpreted as supervisor) is a GO-GETTER & an ACCOUNTABLE personality.
Hence, if we could just live up to the above practices with real - life constraints so as to inculcate aforementioned skills in ourselves , I think we can really justify this serene festival of “Mahashivratri”.
----------------------HAPPY MAHASHIVRATRI-----------------------------
