It’s very much prudent that results (at least 80%) are the outcome or rather consequences of our process based research and not vice-versa. This is applicable in every fields where mankind had proved its feasibility, be it Science & Tech, IT-services, Manufacturing domain, Political establishment, Agricultural sector, etc. Any development in each of these fields or domains is an outcome of process-based conceptualisation of things and their problems.
This is the way in which the things (development, decisions, commitment, obligations) must go......BUT, is it going???...A big NO....WHY??.......It’s very much evident from the current scenario, if we talk particularly about India, that there has been a result-based- expectation of the processes rather than a process-based-expectation of the results of the various initiatives taken by the government so far after the independence. There are lot of examples which will illustrate this gloomy and obstructive approach, basic two areas according to me which plays a vital role in deciding the fate of any nation are:
HIGHER EDUCATION:- We all know that India's higher education system is the third largest in the world, next to the United States and China. BUT, the things become clearer when we see the World Rankings. INDIA has only 1 institute that is IISC-B with a rank in 200-250 bands. The reason being that we people have established a good nos. of institutions like IITs, NITs, IIITs...based on our result- based- expectation that since America & China had done, so we also need to do so and this will ensure us to become a developed nation and farther a super-power someday. BUT, according to me if government keeps itself restricted to only just spending of thousand crores and think that there work is over then it’s a setback for our nation as the resources would be exploited in all directions except the foundation one. Government should rather focus more on the processes involved in order to make a world class university as this will lower the risk of reducing creativity, innovation, and Plexibility among the students. It’s not only conPined to higher education but starting from PRIMARY education itself, for example, we all know about Sarva Siksha Abhiyan. It was a result-based-expectation to curb the ill- facilitated condition of the poor children. If it had been a process-based approach then we have not been getting the news of sub-standard teachers and the un- satisfactory results till now.
POLITICAL ESTABLISHMENT: - There should be a process based approach in this regard also as the prime agenda of any political establishment is to be a voice of people rather than winning a election but things are just the way opposite as now party’s main agenda is to win an election and thus they need to raise some of the issues of the people which suits them accordingly. It should be other way round. They should focus more on raising the voice of the needy and underprivileged and so in the process of doing so, they should contest elections without much hustle and bustle.
There are a lot more specific areas where this result based approach is being followed and it should be followed but up to a certain extent....agreed...as without knowing the results of our processes, we cannot basically PLAN our processes. It’s equally important but not ONLY important. The processes are managed and improved by nation in purpose of achieving their vision, mission and core value. A clear correlation between processes and the vision supports the nation to plan strategies, build a workable structure and use sufficient resources that are required to achieve success (results) in the long run and thus it must not be forgotten that the basic law of creativity is that its value lies not in the attainment of results, not in the product of creation but in the due process of imagining the things and its consequences on a deeper note.
